We got Sean and Caityn's pictures back from JC Penney today. Sean's looking super happy in his picures. Caityn was not in a good mood and we were lucky to get the one with my arm in the background. Now she says she'll go back and get her pictures taken again. We'll see...

Bed, Bath, and Best Buds

Caityn and Sean are getting along so well. Sean is always watching Caityn play, and he loves to hear the sound of her voice. He smiles whenever he sees her. Caityn is just as much in love with her brother too. She has been such a great big sister. She loves trying to help Mommy change his diaper and give him baths. I have found her a couple of times unbuttoning his clothes and starting to change his diaper on her own!

The other day they both woke up really early (around 6am). One of them must have woken up the other. So I took both of them back to sleep in Caityn's bed. I couldn't sleep any more, but the two of them both fell back asleep and I couldn't resist capturing the moment on camera.

We've also started trying to bathe the two of them together since Sean prefers to be sitting up more in the tub. Caityn was loving pouring water on Sean to bathe him. I had to remind her not to pour the water on his face.

On Memorial Day, we went to the local parade in our neighborhood. Caityn had a blast watching the "show". She loved seeing all the dogs and she even waved to the firemen. She didn't want to go home when it was over. Here they are waiting for the parade to start.

Then and Now

Dana's flashback post got me thinking about old photos of myself when I was Caityn's age. I like to look back and see if I can see any of me in her. Here's photos of me when I was 2 with my new baby sister and Caityn when she was 2 with her new baby brother. Does she look like me at all?

Friends

Yesterday, I took Caityn and Sean down to my mom's house to play with family friend Presley. Although Caityn doesn't see Presley all that often, she really enjoys playing with her. Today all she could talk about was Presley, and she can't wait to play with her again! The girls had fun walking the dogs to the park and even held hands on the way home. Too cute!

Heat Wave

This weekend when it was 90 some degrees outside (and inside too!) we took the kids for a swim at the pool at the condo. Our poor air conditioners were working overtime, so we decided to get out and cool off in the pool. It was Sean's first time in a pool, and he enjoyed it! The only thing he didn't like was that his swim float made him lean back too much. He wanted to be sitting forward more so he could see out.

Last year, Caityn was a little fish, but this year she seemed afraid of the water. She clung to us when we held her in the water, and she preferred sitting at the edge of the pool kicking her feet in the water. I think she just needs to go swimming more often to get used to it again.

Thank goodness for Sesame Street!

Some days I just need to pop in a Sesame Street video to get anything done around the house. Yesterday was one of those days. I had a sink full of dishes I was trying to wash, the sink in the garage was backed up with water, and dinner needed to be started. Sesame Street to the rescue! Both my little couch potatoes had their eyes glued to the screen. I got a good 15 minutes before one of them started fussing.

Teething already!!!

I can't believe how fast Sean is growing. He's much bigger than Caityn was at this age. He's only 3 months old, but already about to grow out of his 6 month clothing. We've been calling him Beef!

So Beef has been a wet, drooly, slobbery, mess for several weeks now. We were joking around saying that maybe he was teething already. A few days ago, when he was laughing at me, I saw that first tooth starting to make it's way through his gums. I can't believe it. Teeth at 3 months old! I looked online for anything on early teething. Apparently babies can start teething as early as 3 months, so it's not unheard of. There's an old wives tale that says that early teething in babies is a sign of higher intelligence. Hmmm....
