Waiting for Reece

Friday, August 8, 2008

Today I took Caityn and Sean to my mom's house to play with family friend Presley. My mom was babysitting Presley while her mom was in the hospital having her baby brother Reece. Presley didn't seem like she knew what was really happening today, but the girls had fun anyways playing in the pool.

Look Ma! One hand!

Just a goofy grin

Sean looks super excited to go down this slide

One Fabulous Night

Thursday, August 7, 2008

Last night was my first Mom's night out that I was able to attend and stay! I had such a great time hanging out with my friends and not having to worry about my babies for two whole hours. I am so grateful for the friendships I have made, and I can't imagine being a SAHM without the support and friendship of all the wonderful ladies I have met in our fabulous playgroup. I look forward to each and every playdate and look forward even more to the next MNO!!

Another blast from the past

I have always loved this photo of Caityn sitting up next to her younger baby buddies. With her are Jane's Luke and Karie's Tatianna and one other baby I don't remember.

Now Sean is sitting up among all his younger buddies. With him are Jane's newest one, Nathan, baby Samantha, and Colleen's Charlie. I can't wait to watch them grow up together and get to be good friends :)

Fisher Price Weekend at the Wild Animal Park

Tuesday, August 5, 2008

This weekend we took the kids to the Wild Animal Park for the Fisher Price play weekend. The Little People were scheduled to make an appearance and Caityn was super excited about that. I had to explain to her that when we saw them, they wouldn't be little like her toys, but that they would be big like Big Bird. I think she understood, but when she actually saw them, she was still freaked out.

I dont' know why we decided to take a trip to the WAP in the middle of the summer. It was SUPER HOT!! It didn't help that the toy area was under a tent with zero circulation. At least Caityn had a fun time playing with the toys and riding on the Power Wheels car. We met her friend Mya there and the two girls had a blast running around the park. It didn't even matter that we didn't see many animals. Just being with her friend was fun enough for her. Every time Mya left her sight she kept asking me, "Where's my Mya?" Very cute :)

That's a cute dollhouse!

...for giving me back my sleep!!! I never thought it would happen, but my fussy little baby is finally turning into a sweet happy little boy. It took almost 6 months, but he is finally almost sleeping through the night. It's been 4 nights in a row so far that he has gone to sleep without much fuss and woken up only once. Ahhhh...I've forgotten how nice 6 hours of sleep can be.

Thank you Dr. Nakahara for making the suggestion that changed my baby. And to think, all it took was a simple little blankie (a pink and purple blankie) to make my baby stay asleep at night.

Caityn's Black Eye

Monday, July 28, 2008

Last night at the Coronado concert, Caityn ran smack into her buddy Sarah as they were running around and dancing. The poor kids knocked noggins and Caityn received her first black eye. It's already looking much better, but it sure didn't look so good right after it happened. Both kids are all right, but Caityn still has a puffy black and blue bump right under her eye. Poor thing! I think she forgot all about it this morning, until Abel and I were all up in her face asking her it still hurt. I told her to give me a pitiful look for the pictures. She was really all smiles in the morning when I took these pictures :)

Babies in a Basket

The other day Sean was super fussy (what else is new?), so I put him in the laundry basket for a ride around the living room. Caityn decided to help entertain him while we tried to get ready to go to the zoo. Cheap fun!
