Aquarium Adventures

Saturday we took the kids to the Scripps Birch Aquarium. Caityn has been there several times already, but this was Sean's first time. He was mesmerized by all the fish swimming in the tanks. Caityn wasn't on her best behavior that day, so she didn't get anything from the gift shop, even though we were all set to buy her something. Two and a half is a tough age!

Sean loves the fish!
Say "Cheese!"
Checking out the starfish and lobster
What a beautiful day!
Can I get one of these for at home?
Who's your new friend Sean?
Counting Caityns
Fort Fun

Later that night, when Abel was making a mega trip to Vons, I stayed home and made a super cool fort for the kids to play in until bedtime. Caityn was supposed to go with Abel, but her naughty behavior that day meant she didn't earn that special trip. I think she had more fun playing in the fort anyway :)

Sean tastes the fort to make sure it's okay
"Hey, Caityn, where are you?"
"Here my am!"
Peekaboo!

Are you ready for this?

So not as early as his older sister, but already showing signs of being a full-on walker before he reaches 1 year, and he's not even 9 months old yet (tomorrow!). Two nights ago, on his own, Sean let go of what he was holding on to and started walking towards us. Then yesterday, he let go of the sofa and started heading away from me towards his toys. He didn't get too far before reaching for the floor, but getting farther and farther each day. Today, he was able to walk about 10 steps on his own, catching his balance before falling down.

How DO spiders dream?

Monday, November 3, 2008

Lately, Caityn has been singing lots of songs...some she's known for a while, some she's learned in preschool, theme songs to TV shows she watches. These are the lyrics to one song she's been singing a lot lately:

Row, row boat, down stream
Mary, Mary, Mary, Mary
Like a spider dream ?

Love it :)

Race for the Cure

Sunday, November 2, 2008

Today I participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure with some of my Fabulous Mom friends and had a great time. Sean came along with me, since the boy is currently very attached to his mommy. Caityn stayed home and went to the park with Abel. The "race" was a little over 3 miles long, but pushing a 21 1/2 pound baby up those steep hills made it feel a little bit longer. I couldn't believe how many people participated in the walk today. It was a little difficult to maneuver the stroller through the crowds, but we made it through in 1 1/2 hours.

Fabulous Moms sporting our new T-shirts that Colleen made for us.
Look at all those people!
Sean's buddy Anika peeking out from behind the pink cape to see what all the commotion is.
Some fabulous moms giving their cheesiest grins
Sean slept for an hour and 15 minutes (almost the whole race). He woke up looking bewildered.
Caityn was excited about the pink cape and scarf I brought home for her. She played Super Duper Caityn with her new cape.

Trick-or-Treat!

Friday, October 31, 2008

Here are some photos I took of our trip around the neighborhood trick-or-treating. Caityn was super polite at every house saying "Trick-or-treat!" or "Happy Halloween!", and she remembered to say "Thank you!" after getting her treats. Sean was cool to just hang in the wagon while Caityn went door to door.

Food, Fun, and Fabulous Friends

Sunday, October 26, 2008

Yesterday afternoon we celebrated our first annual Fabulous Fall Festival with all (...well almost all...we missed those of you who couldn't be with us...) of our playgroup friends. Our friend Melissa and her family were so generous to offer up their huge backyard so we could hold our Halloween spectacular. The kids all had such a good time with the arts and crafts and backyard toys and of course the pumpkin pinata! Here's some of the great photos I captured (or in some cases one of our fantastic photographer moms captured) of Caityn and Sean having a wonderful time.
